"Colive Fukuoka 2026" Opens September 30 — Long Stays, Regional Dispersion, and Co-Creation Across Nine Municipalities in Kyushu

■ Event Overview
"Colive Fukuoka 2026" runs for 11 days, from September 30 (Wed) to October 10 (Sat), 2026, with its main venue in the Umi-no-Nakamichi area of Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City. In its fourth year, the program is based in Fukuoka City and travels to nine municipalities: Yame, Koga, Buzen, Yanagawa, Shingu, Dazaifu, Ureshino (Saga), Goto (Nagasaki), and Nagasaki City. As of September 21, 2026, 334 people from 44 countries and regions have registered.
■ Three Pillars
1. Long Stays — "Not gone in a few days"
While inbound visitors to Fukuoka City stay an average of 1.2 days, 2025 participants stayed in the city for an average of 23 days. Through programs such as Hoppin Fukuoka, Ikigai Academy, and SYNAPSE FESTIVAL, participants experience everyday life in Fukuoka.
2. Regional Dispersion — "Not concentrated in one place"
Fukuoka Builders' Coliving, which disperses participants to Koga, Buzen, and Yame, along with excursions across Kyushu and post-program partnerships in Goto and Nagasaki, sends participants gathered in Fukuoka out across the region.
3. Regional Co-Creation — "Relationships that remain after they leave"
Through the City of Fukuoka's World Nomad Conference (September 30), co-creation with local businesses, and overlapping dates with RAMEN TECH (October 7–11), the program turns stays into lasting ties with the region.
Last year's Colive Fukuoka participants spent an average of approximately 530,000 yen per person during their stay in Japan, staying 42 days on average (Colive Fukuoka 2025 Report) — about 2.3 times the national average spend of 229,000 yen per international visitor. This year, the program is built around matching the experiences international visitors seek with what local communities want to share, with the aim of creating a "global relational population."
